Boone County Arboretum – Union, KY

Looking for a free day of fun? I suggest the Boone County Arboretum. The kids had a blast learning about the different plants and we all got a little exercise. They have maps at the beginning that tell you where each plant is located. We also watched the butterflies! Bella was in heaven! She adores butterflies!

The photo is from one of the bamboo clumps. The girls got a kick out of it! There is also a kid garden with places to walk through tunnels of ivy and a full playground right next to it. It is always nice to spend a day outdoors, running in the grass, taking in the beauty, and smelling the flowers. This place is perfect for a blanket picnic!

P.S. With all the flowers in bloom, this place is a Mecca for bees! Remember if you leave them alone, they’ll leave you alone. If somebody in your party is allergic to them, Please be prepared!

Where: 9190 Camp Ernst Road, Union, Kentucky 41091

Cost: Free!
