Jack’s Place – Rising Sun, IN

I made the mistake of stopping at Jack’s Place for dinner yesterday. If you read my blog you know that I’m pretty relaxed and rarely give bad reviews. This place gets an exception. To be fair I have heard that their breakfast is very good. But we ate dinner there.  I was shocked by how bad the service was! They forgot to bring us any silverware. I went to find them myself after they brought my husband his food and he was still lacking a fork. I understand that a waitress cannot carry everything at once but the rule is to bring small children their food first. Bella sat patiently while everybody else got their food but I have met many kids that would not (on a different day she may not have been that forgiving either). I got a shrimp basket and fried mushrooms. My food was fine. Michael, my hubby, got the Manhattan. He said his gravy was salty and barely warm. I tried it. He was right. Other than the gravy the food was OK. Not great but edible. Certainly not worth a trip out of your way! If you need a refill or top off, they actually take your cup to get it. Be warned: This can take a while! The checks are wrote up individually, one per person. We were out with other people and one of their kids was charged for adult food. Took us a minute to figure out what happened. I was so appalled with the service that I would not suggest a trip here to anybody! I know we wouldn’t be back.
