A Birthday & A Death

Today is my daughter’s second birthday! We celebrated over the weekend. It seems like just yesterday we brought Bella home! She added a whole new adventure to this house. Ivy was almost 9 years old when she was born. It has been like starting completely over. It has definitely been a different experience then the first time around. It is simply amazing the difference in parenting style that the same people can have after almost a decade of experience. I cannot begin to explain how incredibly different it is to have a child at 18 versus 27. It is like a different lifetime. I know I am a different person. I like to think I was a good mom to both of them in a different way 🙂 It is both a happy and sad thing to grow another year older. I am glad she has made it here happy and healthy but it is also another step closer to growing up. Happy Birthday to my sweet baby! Please stay little as long as possible!

Today is also the first day of Ivy’s winter break! I get to spend the next 2 weeks with her!

As far as the death is concerned…This morning we found Ivy’s beloved fish, Homer, dead. He has been with us through 3 houses. She was very attached to him. It was bad timing. Wish he could have picked a different day.
